About the event

Recognized as a genius, El Paso native Tom Lea excelled as an illustrator, muralist, artist correspondent, novelist, historian, portraitist, and landscapist. Yet at the end of a long and productive life, he acknowledged his work as an accredited artist correspondent for Life Magazine during WWII as the most vivid and meaningful. This presentation by Lea's representative and friend, who recorded his oral history for Texas Western Press in 1995, shares the reasons why.
